Following information provided regarding the direction the suspect took off in from Cromwell Circle, police were able to track down the stolen car on Route 6N in Mahopac.
Police said that the officers attempted to stop the driver - later identified as 33-year-old Shaun Noone of Yorktown - though he initially refused to stop. Following a short chase, officers were able to get Noone to stop, and it was determined that he was in the reported stolen car. According to police, he was also allegedly in possession of Suboxone, a controlled substance that was not prescribed to him.
Noone was arrested and charged with a felony count of fourth-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. He was also cited for failure to comply with any lawful order or direction of a police officer, an infraction.
Following arraignment, Noone was released on $1,000 cash bail. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday to answer the charges.
